YOU ARE INVITED TO A SANCTUARY
FOR HONORING AND HONING
THE ART OF SLOWING DOWN
Every year 20MOONS hosts a Slow Sanctuary for our community.
It is NOT a performance.
It is an experiential and ritualized process that encourages us to engage with the deeper parts of ourselves and the collective.
The Slow Sanctuary invites you to enter a space and pace beyond our ordinary world and minds.
This carefully crafted journey intends to reduce interference from external factors, so that you can tune in to your own inner landscape.
Each Slow Sanctuary, we propose a seed for collective contemplative inquiry.
The seed aims to stoke curiosity around foundational, universal human themes that we often take at face value.
Through a process of community exploration, we move through surface level patterns/observations/knowing
and towards deeper realms of wonder, inspiration, new perspective, understanding, and possibility.
************************************
For the fall 2024 Slow Sanctuary, we ask the question:
What is home?
Together we will contemplate this seed within an environment consisting of various "habitats"
designed by our longtime collaborators, Elsa Jagniecki and Marje Cristol,
with a soundscape created in real time by 20MOONS' musicians.
Come explore with us on Saturday, September 14th, 2024
@ The Light Box, 1316 Main Ave Ste C
Doors are open from 10am-8pm
You are welcome to come at any time and to stay as long as you like
If you would like to participate in a more structured experience, we will guide a 60 minute experience at
10am, 1pm, 4pm, and 7pm
You are invited to experience the slow sanctuary by observing, resting, witnessing, moving, writing, and/or speaking.
All of these are possibilities, none are required.
We ask that you participate in the way(s) that feel most rich and appropriate for you.
No tickets or registration necessary
The Slow Sanctuary is offered by donation
This project is made possible by the Durango Creative District and the City of Durango's "Durango Creates!" Fund, and is generously hosted by Stillwater Music.
